I’m particularly picky about color. Perhaps it was the color theory class I took where my guest lecturer was Chris Van Allsburg, who unarguably is quite talented when it comes to color theory. Color theory is exactly like music theory. There is tonality, harmony, vibrance, etc… Color on the web can be tricky though and what I’ve found is that it’s nice to give users a preselected palette in which to work from. If a company or person already has a logo or other assets in use, I base it on those. Otherwise, I’ll send them to the Adobe Color Wheel to generate some themes in which to work from. I use Sass to generate the exact colors for the theme so I’m not copy/pasting swaths of hex codes. I set those into the Gutenberg editor so that the site editors have a decent palette of colors to work from.
